Kelly's Pet Care: A Dog's Dream Day

"Six years ago, we discovered the Mulholland Dog Park, a wonderful spot for us to go whenever we could play with our two ball crazed labradoodles, Gypsy and Maggie.  For two years, we observed many dog walkers and sitters in the park, including Ross and Kelly from Kelly’s Pet Care.  We watched them play with their dogs for hours on end, with joy and passion, lovingly exercising them, and tenderly caring for them.  It was an easy decision for us to ask them to take our two most precious girls into their pack.   Every day, rain or shine, five days a week, Ross or Kelly ring our bell and our dogs come running into their arms.  This must be a dog’s dream, to go and run and play every day with their friends, and to be in the care of two very careful and very caring people.  As Maggie has gotten older, and doesn’t run so much with the pack, they still ensure that she gets exercise and individual attention, hiking across the park and in its hills tethered to Kelly’s belt. To call Kelly and Ross dog walkers is like calling the Taj Mahal a nice building.  They are so much more.  They take extraordinary care of our dogs and we would trust-and do trust them-every day with their lives, their health and well being.  They are the leaders of the pack!"
Shelley Freeman – Regional President Wells Fargo – LA Metro

"My dog Lulu Flynn loves Ross and Kelly and loves going to the park and being a member of The Pack. Ross and Kelly are kind, sweet, knowledgeable and so caring about all of the dogs they care for."
Lara Shriftman

"There is no one who I would rather my precious best friend spend his days with. Ross & Kelly love my dog almost more than I do! They have increased the quality of Buddy’s days by leaps and bounds."
America Ferrera

"Ross & Kelly have been running my boy Bubba around for years. When he was younger, there didn’t seem to be enough time in the day, enough hills to climb or enough balls to chase, to tire him out. Yet after a day with Kelly’s Pet Care, I came home to a tired, happy dog. On days when both my assistant and I had barely any time to exercise him, that was a welcome sight! These days, although he doesn’t require quite as much exercise, he still needs to be entertained and still gets just as excited when they show up at the door to pick him up. I have trusted Ross & Kelly with access to my home and the care of my precious dog, for a very long time. There’s nothing like heading out the door for a very busy day, knowing Bubba will be there at the end of that day, happy, safe, clean and tired. Ross & Kelly are my dog heroes!"

"I have a wonderful little Parson’s Russell Terrier, Maya, which in typical breed fashion, has always had trouble playing with other dogs-she is quite the alpha dog! I first met Kelly & Ross in the park where I had taken Maya for exercise. They were there with their dog pack, and I noticed how whole-heartedly they interacted and played with their dogs.  As I watched, to my surprise, Maya began to join in with their pack at play. Kelly & Ross kindly allowed her to do this. I spoke with them and realized that here were two special people who had created a true, cohesive community of canines. I immediately signed Maya up to be part of The Pack, which they allowed, as she exhibited that she could be a non-aggressive member. It has been 5 happy years for me and Maya. She has dog friends and a completely separate life of her own! It is amazing that she has learned the great fun of playing wit her peers, and she has learned to be part of a hierarchy. Since joining The Pack, she has learned positive, healthy behavior. She comes home at the end of a day, she is happy & tired. She is so excited in the morning when Kelly or Ross arrives to pick her up, and I have never seen her love anyone else the way she does them. She went from having anxiety attacks over not being with me, to being happy in her days with them. Kelly & Ross shower her with Love as if she was their own. These are two people, who not only have great skill with animals, but have a tremendous amount of compassion and a real love for what they do. Those of us who have dogs know that they are like an extension of our family-that said-there is only one time I never worry or feel concerned about Maya, and that is when she is with Kelly & Ross. Recently I asked Ross & Kelly to be Maya’s godparents. They are the only people I would ever trust with the welfare of my beloved dog. There are not enough words to describe how special Kelly & Ross Levy truly are."

"Ross and Kelly of Kelly’s Pet Care were highly recommended to me by my good friend who was using them for daycare for her dog. I contacted them and they asked if I could bring my dogs Max & Rigby by to “meet The Pack” to make sure it was a “good fit” for them. They stressed that The Pack program was wonderful for the right dogs, but not for every dog, and wanted to make sure my dogs choose this program for themselves. I arrived at the park and saw them bring dogs in two by two and having them sit calmly before taking off the leash. I liked this approach very much. The dogs were calm and collected, not jumping around everywhere.  By no means were Ross and Kelly drill sergeant-militant, they simply KNOW how dogs minds work and are able to control and communicate and nurture the with astonishing poise and the MOST genuine love! After they brought their dogs in (approximately 28 that day!) they all preceded to the play are together. These dogs were excited and having so much fun, and always under control. Max and Rigby joined right in running with The Pack and having a wonderful time. I had no doubt these were the people I wanted taking care of my dogs.

"Each day they come to pick up my dogs, I’m amazed how excited Max & Rigby are to see them EVERY single time. They bound out the door and I don’t have to worry for a second that they’re under the best possible care. They arrive home after their park days exhausted and happy.

"I highly recommend Ross and Kelly to anyone looking for a wonderful day care experience for their dogs. They are guaranteed a fun-filled day unparalleled to anything else I have seen in Los Angeles. Furthermore, it’s not just the doggies that are graced by this warm, loyal and dynamic duo. These two are a JOY to experience as people, and I trust them whole-heartedly with my pups, and importantly to my home, with easy and full confidence.

"I happened upon Kelly, Ross and The Pack about 8 years ago while my Shepherd Rudy and I were there. I couldn’t believe the energy they put out everyday. Without commenting on a lot of the other dog walkers I have seen, all I can say is that nary a cell phone did I ever see Kelly & Ross use. After several trips of watching them in action I eventually asked if they could take Rudy with The Pack a few times a week. Rudy was a bit shy and didn’t like to be away from me much so I wondered how well this experiment would work. Rudy finally relinquished his eight years as the Pack leader when he passed away a few months ago. He grew so much with them and his journey from shy guy to Pack Leader was one of the most amazing transformations of his life. Fittingly, Kelly & Ross were there at the vets the day we said goodbye to my boy Rudy and it was so comforting to both Rudy and I will never forget it."

"Ross and Kelly are lifesavers:  they have mellowed our two Labradors, Henry and Ella.  Their fun, imaginative activities at the park provide an outlet for Henry and Ella that is invaluable.  Ross and Kelly put the pack first.  Their knowledge of dogs is infinite.  We trust them completely."
Jordana Brewster

"I have known Ross & Kelly for close to ten years, and no on-I mean NO ONE-does what they do to stimulate and exercise your dog, and they do it with knowledge, respect and love. It’s so clear that this is their passion that you can’t imagine them having done anything else before Kelly’s Pet Care was established. I’ve always thought of them as some sort of phenomenon, actually. You would know that’s not an overstatement if you saw them in action-especially on a day when it’s pouring down rain! They used to take my Nicki with them, but my schedule became more & more flexible to allow me to taker her myself. So, I became part of what I call the “fans”-a group of about 10 or so people who hang out with Ross, Kelly & The Pack-as often as we can. Most of us show up almost every day & I have to wonder if the fans are having more fun than the dogs sometimes  Ross & Kelly never sit still, so neither do the dogs, for close to three hours a day. It’s a complete blast and the best mid day break I could ever imagine. I call it Doggie Disneyland, and both my and my dog’s lives are happier for being lucky enough to be part of the Kelly’s Pet Care Pack. Ross & Kelly deserve all the happiness & success in the world, because they’ve enriched the lives of countless dogs…what a great legacy they’ve created!"

"Our dog Stanley, a brindle French bulldog of 2 years old, lives for the KPC.  Mon/Wed/Fridays are Stanley KPC Pack days and on those days I can’t walk him down our street because he is afraid he’ll miss his ride.  He just sits and waits longingly for Kelly’s arrival.  When Kelly knocks on the door or pulls around the corner (if we’re outside waiting on the stoop which we so often are because Stanley refuses to take his eyes off the spot where The KPC Van pulls up), Stanley instantly loses his little mind.  He begins to jump ballistically, and run side-to-side, not knowing which direction to move in first.  He then jumps up into Kelly’s arms and proceeds to smother her in kisses and snorts.  After about one minute of kisses, she guides him along into the K9 minded designed van for transport to the park.

"Not only does Stanley love his KPC experience, we love it too.  We searched all of LA for the perfect dog day adventure for Stanley.  His happiness means everything to us.  We toured every facility in the City and tried several.  None came anything close to the days that Kelly and Ross give their Pack.  The dogs first get the van ride, which is just pure fun!  Stanley tussles it up with the other dogs in the van, which is pure playful puppy joy.  When he arrives at the park, he is escorted safely down to the Kelly and Ross area one at a time.  Eventually all the dogs congregate in that special spot.  I say special because it seems to be a magical area in the Valley that has a breeze every day.  Then the training and park fun begins.  Kelly and Ross are like personal trainers for your dog.  They have a list of all the dogs and they make sure that every day, each dog gets enough exercise, plenty of water, and lots of safely monitored dog and human interaction.  What other Dog Care Company has groupies?  There are people who come to the park just to hang out with the KPC dogs because the Pack is so therapeutic.

"I would be remiss if I didn’t say a few words about how reliable Kelly and Ross are.  They are incredibly professional and consistent. You can always count on them.  I hear so many stories about “flakey” dog walkers who say your dog goes out for four hours and people come to discover that their dog never even left the house.  Thank you “nanny cams.”  This is NEVER the case with Kelly and Ross.  With the pack, your dog is guaranteed a full doggy day of play and love.  Your dog will come home exhausted in that way people only get if they’ve had a great workout.  Your dog will eat a hearty dinner and then sleep until morning.  Kelly and Ross are fantastic communicators and through their website you can get to know all the other dogs in the pack if you don’t have time to get to the park and greet them all personally.

"Stanley is the most socialized dog we know.  We can bring him anywhere, and he will find a way to play and interact with whomever or whatever is there.  He plays with all dogs, big and small, children, the elderly and we never worry that he will misbehave.  Rather, he always shows other dogs, less socialized dogs, how it’s done.  His socialization and maturity is 100% learned behavior from his time with the KPC.  We couldn’t be prouder of him, and it’s truly thanks to Ross and Kelly.  They train, they play and they keep your dog safe.  Their services are priceless, but they also happen to be the best bargain around.  We feel so blessed and grateful to have found Kelly, Ross and the extraordinary pack they’ve created as they have enriched Stanley’s life beyond words."

"Kelly and Ross gave my two collies, Tsar and Alexandra vastly richer and happier lives through their times with the Kelly’s Pet Care pack (seven years).

"In the good and healthy years, they got fantastic exercise each day, and in the tough times, Kelly and Ross were heroic in their continued care and interest in keeping them part of the group.

"My Alexandra suffered a severe partial paralysis, and for seven years they helped keep her moving and interested.  And when necessary, Ross and Kelly would carry her into the center of the pack, keeping her not only active but feeling like a normal dog.
Their help and care and passion were invaluable to me, and more importantly to my dogs."
Tom Moore

"Here’s the thing- it all comes down to trust.  Who are you going to trust with the most precious thing in your life?  Let’s face it – our dogs are like our kids, right?  I met Ross and Kelly at the park six years ago after I got my very first dog.  I watched them with their “pack” for weeks.  I thought, “Who are these lunatics?  How come they are running and jumping and laughing and rolling all over the ground with their dogs??!”  I looked around at the other dog walkers who were walking around the park with their dogs as if they were underwater (while talking on a cell phone and smoking at the same time!”.  My dog joined the pack right away and then I began to see such amazing changes.  The pack socialized her.  They taught her how to become a well-rounded dog in all aspects.  As the pack leaders, Kelly and Ross over-see all of their “play” and make sure things stay friendly, let the dogs work things out amongst themselves and learn from each other and, of course, they always know exactly when to step in when things start to escalate.

"They know SO much about “all things dogs”.  They live, breathe and sleep dog.  I’ve never seen people work so hard to continually keep these dogs physically AND mentally stimulated.

"My dogs come home happy and tired.  They eat dinner and pass out.   I know for a fact that a good dog is an exhausted dog! I am looking forward to their shiny new facility."
Very sincerely,
Marci Liroff (7 year client!)

"Ross and Kelly Levy have been in our lives (and our dogs’ lives) for ten years!  For the first few years they walked and hiked with Tucker and Burt – then later they began taking them to the dog park for many hours.  Then after Burt died, Ross and Kelly helped us train our new dog, Jimmy, and integrate him into the “pack”.  Ross and Kelly are a very important part of our whole family’s life.  We depend on them – and they have NEVER not been available to take our dogs for a day, weekend or week.  Ross and Kelly are not normal ‘dog walkers’ – the pack is their life.  They devote themselves to all of the dogs and their well being.

"Beyond being loyal and dependable – Kelly and Ross are trustworthy.  We can’t imagine trusting anyone else with our dogs.  They are the first to notice when one of our dogs is sick or might have some sort of issue.  When we have a question about our dog’s behavior, they help us with training and sage advice.  They are generous with their time and wisdom.

"Ross and Kelly are committed to what they do.  They bring joy to our dogs’ lives – and they make our life easier by caring so much!"
Elizabeth and Jeff Ingold

"We cannot begin to express how greatly our lives have improved since discovering Kelly’s Pet Care.  Boo joined “the Pack” at an energetic 6 months old. Kelly, Ross and the gang successfully wore her out at every park trip, interactively playing with all the dogs just as pack members do.  Boo would return from the trip and contently fall asleep. It was clear to us that she simply could not contain herself on the days that we would say “Ross and Kelly are picking you up today”. She would literally go outside and wait for their arrival. Ross and Kelly treat every dog as if it is their own.  Recently boo was playing with her “dad” in a hilly cul-de-sac, and suddenly starting sneezing blood. We took her to the emergency room only to be sent home with no diagnoses or treatment, asked to “observe her for 48-72 hours”. When we explained the situation the next day to Ross and Kelly, their concern was genuinely expressed. They tirelessly called and e-mailed trying to get a hold of us in order to urge us to take Boo back to a different ER. Thank God we listened to them, because when we did take her to a different ER they sedated her and removed a 2-inch foxtail from her nose. The Vet said it could have easily caused brain damage or even worse…Needless to say we are indebted to Kelly & Ross for saving our Boo’s life. Again we cannot say enough about Kelly’s Pet Care, you simply cannot find a more caring, responsible, professional and trustworthy organization."

"My neighbor recently asked me who takes are of my dog while I’m at work.  When I told her about Kelly’s Pet Care she said, 'You should hear the way they talked to him when they drop him off.  They always tell him how much they love him, and how they can’t wait to see him tomorrow’.

"If the true test of someone’s character is how they act when no one is around, there are no greater characters than Ross and Kelly."
Nick C.

"6 weeks after we got our Siberian husky Jack, we took him to the dog park. There we saw two people running around, throwing balls and being chased by what appeared to be 50 excited dogs. The two packs came together under one tree and collectively began to howl at the two (who howled back). Impressed, we approached the two and asked what they were about. Kelly & Ross explained about their business (KELLY’S PET CARE). It was obvious that the dogs loved them both and that they sincerely loved each individual dog back (by name). The next week our dog gained acceptance to their pack and has not missed his weekly trips for the past 7 years. Kelly’s and Ross are Jack’s official Godparents (if there is such a thing for canines). Kelly’s Pet Care is the best in LA."
Stuart Lessner

"Ross and Kelly at Kelly’s Pet Care are not your typical “dog walkers”.  In fact, they are not typical “anything” at all – they are EXTRAORDINARY!  When I first met them, I was struck not only by their professionalism, but by their compassion and knowledge of the animals they cared for.  I learned more about my dog, and dogs in general, in the first two weeks of their taking Basmati out for us, than we did in six months of dog training classes.  We trust completely that not only is our dog having a joyous time with the “Pack”, but that he is also being well-taken care of and watched over.  Dogs are Ross and Kelly’s passion, not just their hobby.  Days with Kelly’s Pet Care are truly “days that dogs dream of!"
Ronni R.

"We first met Ross and Kelly through frequent trips to the dog park and saw first hand how great they were with their pack. We were especially struck by how active they kept The Pack during the entire time they were at the park. Our dog quickly became fond of them and it was only a mater a time before she was a Pack Member as well. With my frequent traveling and my husbands work schedule, having Ross and Kelly take care of our dog always gave us peace of mind. Plus they are great soccer fans!!!"

"Almost three years ago to the date something wonderful happened to my puppy. I was taking my wonderful Golden Retriever to the park as often as I could. It was certainly not enough. But as a working family, we did the best we could. Every second or third day I would drive him to the park and throw balls to engage him or walk around the park to keep him involved. He often just stayed by my side and if I sat down, so did he. Pressure!

"Whenever I went I noticed two people dressed in clean and perfectly pressed khaki shorts and logo’d shirts (an unusual sight in the dusty dog park). These people had a pack of dogs around them-all running together, playing like puppies in the same litter (even though they represented every breed imaginable), water dishes on the ground, toys hanging from the trees for dogs who loved to jump, Frisbees and balls flying, a plastic kids swimming pool filled and waiting, and one of them always holding up the back end of a paralyzed dog to keep her moving with the pack. I had to get to know these amazing people! I did, and so did my dear Golden Beaumont. And I am so grateful.

"Kelly and Ross are even more devoted to their beloved “pack” than I saw in those mornings in the park. Their reliability and involvement in my dogs’ life has become very important to our family. Beaumont leads a happier life with them in it!

"My eight year-old Labrador Retriever Favor has been going to the park with Kelly & Ross for six years. When Favor is with Kelly & Ross she is in good hands. Not only are Kelly & Ross incredibly competent, trustworthy and knowledgeable about dogs, they are also loving and fun. Favor always comes home form the park exhausted and happy and I credit Kelly & Ross with keeping Favor youthful and healthy—everyone who asks is always surprised to learn that Favor is eight years old."

"Ruby’s story-Little Ruby came into our lives. She had been roaming the streets of LA when she was picked up by the pound. She was adopted out, then passed on to another family who did not want a dog. Then I met her and asked if I could take her home. There was lots of sadness in her eyes. She would not eat, and was very shy and frightened by my every move. I decided I should take her to the park. I circled the park and we always ended up hanging around Ross and Kelly’s pack. Ruby would just stare at all the dogs having fun. What I did not know was that she was making a special connection with Ross. Almost every day for the next month I took her and every day she got a little closer and closer and after one month she went on her own with them. Yes the first day was rough for all; the owner, Ruby and Ross & Kelly. Ruby got a little confused with-out me, and Ross & Kelly had their hands full that day but they were very very persistent. Now Ruby, who thinks she is a Great Dane, runs with The Pack and I think she thinks she is the Alpha Dog! Did I mention she is only 10 pounds? She also likes to climb Ross, so he is called “Mt.Ross”! Ruby runs with The Pack a few times, comes home absolutely exhausted. Ross and Kelly are the best."

"If Olive our black lab drank coffee and read the newspaper, she would have it with her every Tuesday and Thursday morning while she sits in the dining room window and waits for Kelly to pull up in her van and take her to the park.  At nine thirty, rain or shine, Kelly is there, greeting Olive with her own song Ross and Kelly made up just for her.  She returns hours later, happy and exhausted after a day of playing fetch with all of her friends.

"In addition to giving Olive the exercise and socializing she needs and assuaging our gilt about not being able to take her on hikes often enough, they are two amazing people who Olive and ourselves have come to trust and love.  They treat each dog as if they were their own, catering to each of their specific needs, no matter what they are.

"They also educate us on how to care for our dog, how to make sure she’s safe and healthy.  For example, one article they sent out alerting us to the dangers of foxtails, pretty much saved our dog’s life when she ingested one and I knew what signs to look for. Our only complaint about Kelly’s Pet Care is that they don’t take kids."
Liz Astrof

"I had been taking my Boston Terrier to the dog park for 4 years, when I got pregnant.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to take her to the park once the baby arrived, but I knew it was crucial for her to get her exercise and to be social with other dogs.  Over the four years I saw Ross and Kelly work with their pack.  They are always focused on the pack; they know each dog and how to meet the dogs’ needs.  They play with the dogs, make sure they are hydrated and they are sure to keep the peace.  They genuinely enjoy their dogs and their dogs are devoted to them.  I feel very secure knowing Kelly and Ross are watching our little love, and it’s nice for her to get her special days with them."
Liz and Doc

"We love Kelly’s Pet Care!  Our puppy joined the pack at 4 months old because he had boundless energy he couldn’t expend at home. Now he is calm and relaxed in the evenings.  KPC is also a safe and fun way for him to socialize.  He has learned to feel comfortable around all types of dogs and people of all ages.  He can’t wait to get picked up!  Additionally, Kelly and Ross have offered their expert advice on all aspects of raising our puppy which has been invaluable to us as it is our first time.  We highly recommend KPC."
Leigh and Jeff M.

"Our dog Macho LOVES Kelly and Ross and I know this because he literally tries to claw down the door every time he hears their van pull up! I’ve seen them many times at the dog park and unlike other dog walkers; Ross and Kelly really engage with the pack, making sure every pack member gets plenty of exercise, love and attention. The fact that Ross  & Kelly can recognize my standard chocolate lab from across the park without having seen me first tells me that they genuinely care about their dogs and treat them better than “clients” and more like family. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my baby! Simply put, they are the best pet care in town!"
Elena F.

"Kelly’s Pet Care has b been a superlative service for me and my Siberian husky, Luna.  Luna looks so forward to her time with Kelly, Ross and The Pack.  In fact Luna even sensed the time and day of her thrice weekly visits to the degree she would be at the door waiting for them to pick her up!  Kelly and Ross go out of their way to make sure Luna is well attended to and they are always helpful with information regarding anything canine.  Kelly and Ross truly care about dogs and understand the profound relationship these animals have in our lives.  I highly recommend their service and I assure you that both you and your pets will enjoy the experience."
Craig Higgins

"I have a French bulldog named Pig. Approximately one year ago we arrived at the park for the first time. Rig was drawn to Ross, Kelly and The Pack immediately. Pig began to play and respond to Ross and Kelly like I have never seen her do with anyone else. This is a dog that has a lot of trainers/people around her. After spending time with The Pack pig is the dog she was always meant to be. I feel like there was something missing until she joined them. As a dog owner Ross and Kelly have also taught me a tremendous amount. Their experience and friendship is invaluable to Pig and I both. I can’t help but think that anyone else is so lucky to have these amazing people and animals in their lives."
Meg & Pig

"Kelly’s Pet Care to the rescue. We work long hours. The only way to come home to a happy dog is to have Kelly’s Pet Care in our lives. We would not be able to keep Jake, our fun loving golden retriever without them."
Kim and Chris

"It’s hard to express the appreciation we have for Kelly and Ross. In fact, the only “People” who might have greater appreciation for them are our dogs themselves.

"Once a week for several years, Kelly’s Pet Care took April and Tucker to the dog park at Laurel Canyon, and provided many safe and rollicking hours for our pets. They kept them running, jumping and hiking all day. They even, on occasion, let them slide down the slides! Kelly and Ross understand animals well and have a firm command of them-and it’s so obvious they love the dogs placed in their care. We really respect their work and the service they provide for families who lack the time to make regular visits to a dog park.

"We recommend their services with love and enthusiasm."
Ann Warren and Barry Grey-Los Angeles

"One of the hardest things I’ve ever done is to leave Ross and Kelly’s pack. I first met them after my brother died. I was lonely and lost. They took me in and surrounded me with exceptional caring and understanding. In a couple of months I felt like a new dog with more friends than I ever had in my life.

"So I made it a point to go to the dog park several times a week. For years just to hang with them. They always made me feel good. They always made me feel welcome. I really liked it when they gathered everyone together for a long howl. As a beagle-it was especially meaningful to me.

So when I had to move to Texas, the hardest thing for me to do was say goodbye to The Pack. It meant saying goodbye to people who understand dogs’ needs, crave dogs’ companionship, and thoroughly deserve dogs’ trust. It meant saying goodbye to my family. Those who remain in their care remain with some of the best people I’ll ever know."
